the support should be the same as was used for Indradanush 2015 C-17s C-130J-30 and IL78 tankers possibly Brize based as per last visit.

It's been a wee while since I went to Spade, but if they are using ground based JTACS and lasers at wiley sike, you won't get parked up there. They put up a cordon round the area for H&S reasons. Other than that the place is wide open, but vast, and a lot of the stuff they do now is Med to high level, so the chances of seeing anything down low will be pretty small. The road was closed due to people violating covid restrictions, but it was open last year when I was down there.

Did I hear that one of the Indian Hercs may go to Cambridge for maintenance at the beginning of March with the other acting as a crew bus?
When did Marshall’s start doing maintenance for the Indian AF? I’ve not seen any such announcement :S

Let's wait for fact and not more and more conjecture.
You do understand the concept of an internet discussion forum, I take it?

I still don’t see a mention of Marshall’s or Cambridge. I’d have thought the company would have made an announcement if this were the case

Hi Nunek,

The power of google reveals

https://www.airrecognition.com/index.ph ... fleet.html
Reveals that Marshalls are not doing maintenance of any Indian C-130Js... LM won the contract instead.

It starts very soon.

Just because you haven't seen any announcement, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

It says............
five C-130J Hercules aircraft will undergo 12-year servicing (depot maintenance) at a Lockheed Martin-approved Heavy Maintenance Center (HMC) beginning in 2022
..........which could be Marshalls!

Apart from Waddington, Coningsby & Leeming being the main venues for this exercise. Spadeadam range will see a lot of involvment. Out of curiosity, is it possible to get close to this place for pix? I've never been there before, the location looks a "bit off the beaten track", nearest village is Haltwhistle. Is it worth a venture up there?
I went to Spade once many years ago, but never got close enough to see anything because I got snowed off! This was in April!

Here's a link to an old thread, I guess most of it is still relevant, there was some talk in 2020 that the road to "the gorge" or "the waterfall" was closed "temporarily", although that may have become permanent. Access was still available but only on foot (or cycle)

Ah, a sad sign of the times we're living in I guess. I'll stick with the WAVE then. Cheers, guys.
The closure was in 2020 and it was NOT permanent road is open

Just in case this exercise proceeds, some traffic information for prospective attendees coming from the Norfolk/Suffolk areas.

Starting next Monday 28/02/22 the bridge at Sutton Bridge on the A17 will be single carriageway operation only until 01/07/2022 controlled by temporary traffic lights. This is for maintenance and repaint. Long delays could be anticipated.

Thanks

I seem to recall this happened during a previous Cobra warrior

What time does the WAVE normally open?
Will it be opening earlier than normal during Cobra Warrior?
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Their normal opening times are on their web page, but I think if memory serves me correctly they opened earlier during a previous Cobra Warrior.
