Ideally you want the support to go home and come back in different aircraft at the end of the exercise.

Did I hear that one of the Indian Hercs may go to Cambridge for maintenance at the beginning of March with the other acting as a crew bus?
Not if your coming from across the Channel for this exercise :)

Cut and pasted from The Defenstar.

In a First, instead of Sukhois or Rafales, India to send an All-Tejas contingent of 5 Tejas Mk-1 fighters to UK for a Multi-national war games with British Typhoons & F-35s, Swedish Gripens, Saudi F-15s and Bulgarian F-16 fighters...🇮🇳🇮🇳
Three Tejas jets recently flew over 3000 km non-stop ferry flight with 3 external drop tanks to Singapore for the air show, demonstrating the mid-air refueling and long-range ferry capabilities of the Made in India fighter jet.
The Indian Air Force's Second Tejas Squadron, squadron No.18, that has just completed its first-ever outing in the Singapore air show might soon be heading to Britain for a joint combat exercise that has been planned from 7th – 25th March with the Royal Air Force, as well as aircraft from the Saudi, Belgian, and Swedish air forces.
Participation of the IAF in Exercise Cobra Warrior is mainly coming from the British Journalists, while we wait confirmation come IAF. As reported by British Journalists, IAF will be sending 5 Tejas Mk-1 jets to the Exercise Cobra Warrior with 2 supporting C-130 and C-17 Transport aircraft each to the ferry maintenance crew and ground equipment.
Exercise Cobra Warrior is one of the largest annual RAF exercises and is intended to train both pilots and other air specialists in planning and executing complex airborne missions.
RAF Waddington airbase will be home to Indian Tejas jets where it will take part in air-to-air operations in mock dogfights and aircraft interceptions, as well as simulated ground attacks. This will be the first-ever outing of Tejas in an International air exercise in Europe and if the information is confirmed by IAF then it shows growing confidence in the jet and its combat capabilities.

Yet another version of what could be about to happen :halo: Let's wait for fact and not more and more conjecture.

Apart from Waddington, Coningsby & Leeming being the main venues for this exercise. Spadeadam range will see a lot of involvment. Out of curiosity, is it possible to get close to this place for pix? I've never been there before, the location looks a "bit off the beaten track", nearest village is Haltwhistle. Is it worth a venture up there?

I once looked into going to Spade, but with activity sporadic and the place quite vast I never bothered.

One place that sounded like an epicenter all most, or could have just been a valley where the aircraft were low, was Wiley Syke.

Looking in the Spade section of the forum I've come across this from 2020, no idea what the current status is.

I went to Spade once many years ago, but never got close enough to see anything because I got snowed off! This was in April!

Here's a link to an old thread, I guess most of it is still relevant, there was some talk in 2020 that the road to "the gorge" or "the waterfall" was closed "temporarily", although that may have become permanent. Access was still available but only on foot (or cycle)

They have Blk70’s on order, and a couple of ex USAF jets are to be delivered, but not aware if any have actually been delivered as yet 🤷‍♂️.

Non operational delivered, still might take a few years.
All should be delivered by 2027.
Ex USAF are GIA

Ah, a sad sign of the times we're living in I guess. I'll stick with the WAVE then. Cheers, guys.

Indian Aerospace Defence News suggesting 5 Tejas
Exercise Cobra Warrior is an air exercise conducted by Royal Airforce. This time it is scheduled to be conducted 7th March to 25th March 2022. According to information available as of now 5 HAL Tejas Mk1 will take part in the exercise along with 4 other unspecified IAF support aircraft, which likely will be IL78MKI and C17s.

This will be the first time IAF Tejas will participate in an exercise with foreign Airforces. Tejas has been participating in internal exercises of IAF and in numerous Air Shows for past few years. Recently 3 HAL Tejas Mk1 flew non stop 3000+ km over seas to Changi Airbase in Singapore for the 2022 Singapore Airshow. This shows the confidence IAF now holds in the platform.

Also from the official IAF twitter page:

IAF will participate in multi-nation air exercise #CobraWarrior at #RAF Waddington, UK from 6 to 27 Mar 22.

Five LCA #Tejas will participate in the exercise. C-17 aircraft will provide transport support. https://t.co/jgDkbVSI8j
