Re: Summer Deployments
When so we think we will see some arrivals then ? This weekend ?
Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.
Re: Summer Deployments
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish....
My thinking is along these lines.
For something to arrive at FFD at around midnight Monday/Tuesday, it would have to depart from wherever 8 or 9 hours earlier - so something like 16:00Z on 30th May. 30th May is a US bank holiday (Memorial day) so most bases will be closed. Therefore, they are likely to need to NOTAM them open (unless it's considered OAT which I doubt this is).
If the rumors are right about it being Minot, then given M0349/16 nothing is likely to leave there before Saturday night (so earliest arrival Sunday morning).
M0401/16 says Whiteman is shut for the midnight arrival window, so not from there, although there are two 'open windows' - one tonight (M0408/16) which would arrive early Saturday morning, and another Saturday afternoon (M0400/16) which would arrive in the early hours of Sunday morning. These might be nothing to do with Fairford though.
Barksdale (M0299/16) and Dyess (M0329/16) are NOTAMed shut till 31st May, so not from there. Ellsworth - nothing posted, so probably normal op hours and will be shut till 12:00Z on 31st.

Re: Summer Deployments
Picture this. Bombers turn up in the window discussed. Quiet waiver to get 2 C-5's in with all the rest of the kit and pax.
Why else would you need a quiet waiver?
They could have brought that stuff over at any point last week. Could the bomber timings be set in stone because of the holiday with the support racing to catch up overnight on the 30th and 31st?

We'll see when it happens I guess!!
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Re: Summer Deployments
I'd be tempted to suggest that the quiet hours waiver means nothing more than an aircraft movement will happen then - big or small, in or out - rather than a special movement is being saved for the middle of the night. The military operates 24/7, so if the duty hours day and the local time zone mean something that could happen at 3pm can actually happen at 3am and get the pilot/aircraft/kit somewhere else sooner, then the Fairford world in the last five years seems to be happy with that.
Re: Summer Deployments
New one for Minot
M0350/16 - AERODROME HOURS OF SERVICE ARE. 28 MAY 19:00 2016 UNTIL 28 MAY 21:00 2016. CREATED: 28 MAY 17:23 2016
Implies something in or out of Minot within the next 3 hours, so if FFD related would indicate an arrival in the early hours of Sunday UK time.

Re: Summer Deployments
Yeah, just looks like the one Galaxy heading over. Arriving 0600L-0800L tomorrow morning.
See if I can get a look at what they pull off.

Re: Summer Deployments
RCH640 is C-5B 87-0041 [AE0586] for those who might need it - if that is coming to Fairford.

Re: Summer Deployments
Storm, where does it say RCH640 is headed to Fairford? Also Minot-Fairford AMC traffic is most likely over Canada, Greenland and Iceland down the west coast if it is headed in one hop. BTW there is an Atlas 747 N499MC headed our way from McGuire (call sign GTI8572) but I would put money that sailing straight over the UK to Germany (probably the same destination for RCH640 IMHO).StormsInAfrica wrote:Yeah, just looks like the one Galaxy heading over. Re: Summer Deployments
23:45L RCH640 is descending through FL135 over New York state somewhere. If it's a Westover based machine its probably going into there. When first picked up it was at FL390 which is very high for so early in it's flight.

Re: Summer Deployments
Yep, we were just discussing this on FB. It's going hard at Massa (where it is based). Alternativwly it could be Mildenhall or Ramstein. Given that it came from Westover and not Minot, this may not be our player.
Re: Summer Deployments
Atlas Air going to Hahn, over Swansea at 37000 right now.
Re: Summer Deployments
