I have been to many air shows in my time and the only aircraft I have not seen up close and personal which I hoped would be at this air show is the AC-130 Gunship.
They are very rare at IAT/RIAT
I have only 2 AC-130s logged over the years, last one in 1994. Can't remember one for the last 20 years.

a quick question please, do we get to know before hand whats due on the friday, and in what order after the display is ended at 1500hrs. I,ve a long train journey back up north, and it would help to judge when to go for the shuttle... tia.

Mmm, can't see the Turkish and Greeks being put together!
They flew (F-16s) together and parked next to each other on the ramp at Ocean Sky in October last year without issue, I'm sure they will manage!

I went to the Nellis air show in 2017. They had a AC-130 on static, and open to the public. Let's just say it's an eye opener as to how much they can get in there.

Good afternoon all it's almost time. RIAT posted an interesting social media post this morning saying the Hellenic F-4's are enroute and to be prepared for electrifying action. Now this could be referring to the show as a whole but an interesting aircraft to pick out. Perhaps they are possibly flying now. I'm happy to just have them on the ground. But I thought it might be worth mentioning here.

Any flying display by a Hellenic F-4 would be confined to a few fly bys and a couple of turns, don’t think they’ve had a F-4 display for years. Still an F-4 flying is not to be missed.

Completely agree thunder a couple of passes would be amazing. Again not confirmed by RIAT but just an interesting post on their socials this morning.

Does the RAF or any British Miliary branch have an AC-130 Gunship or any similar type aircraft?

Well, the nearest thing to a 'gunship' in UK service that I can think of: When we see the Chinook display, they sometimes have a heavy machine gun mounted on the ramp. Not quite in the AC-130 league, though!

Shame about those Portuguese F-16’s , they were my highlight.

It doesn't say that all four will be at Fairford, I hope they are though.
