Gary's right. A change is simply needed from the Tories.
Will have to be a tactical vote for me here, too close between Tories and Lib Dems but anything to keep them out.

Blows my mind that anyone out there can sit down and think "Yeah do you know what, Liz Truss gets my vote, I can rely on her" especially after her "PM" stint!! She can't even fix the crumbling King's Lynn hospital! Or outlive a lettuce

My mortgage rate back in the day reached 15%
Everyone seems to want someone else to pick up the bill for them these days

What are you talking about - i don't usually respond to you because generally there is no point but seriously
It was a struggle - I had a lodger to make ends meet - prices were lower but so were wages
I also said I vote on ideology , but you can't accept that and try to ridicule people you don't agree with - it is my decision how I vote thank you very much as I don't want this country run by socialists like your self who by the way said they wanted England to lose in the Euros the other day - I suppose you will be cheering on Switzerland this Saturday
Socialism the tolerant party - what a joke
Blair sowed seeds that could have ruined this country and might still do with the way immigration is heading and the diluting of the British way of life.

It's easy to reply and get a wind up and take something far too seriously
Yeah, I did, because it would've got Southgate out quicker
Blair finished in 2007, and then add the 14 years of Tories into the mix, which has fixed us right up, nice one!!
As long as your pensions safe it doesn't matter for the future

Re: General Election Thursday 4th July 2024
Very difficult to shut the gates once they have been thrown open without negotiation during enlargement
By the way it was a two bed flat with a lodger - not a house
What were we talking about - oh yes the forgone conclusion that is the General election
Doesn't affect me I am retired and under Thatcher I was able to get decent jobs and a pension so the Tories did alright by me - I sound smug but there you go. I think you can only vote for your own circumstances and what is right for you
Just occurred to me there is a weird correlation between you wanting England to lose to get rid of Southgate ( he was good with Villa plus Euro Final and world cup semi) and me voting for Truss who I don't like but she is the Tory candidate and I want a Socialist even less than Truss as an MP

The Rwanda solution isn't new
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co ... 827016.amp
Papers released from 2023 reveal Blair was presented with a similar option
Papers from 2003, released by the National Archives, show Mr Blair was increasingly frustrated by the failure to deter people from coming to the UK.
He had called for more "radical" ideas.
Other suggestions presented to him included safe havens overseas for those whose asylum claims were rejected.
In a paper entitled "Asylum: the nuclear option", advisers even questioned whether the UK needed an asylum system at all, because refugees would already have passed through a safe country before reaching Britain's shores.
Some of the ideas discussed in "brainstorming" sessions have strong parallels with the policies of the current government, though the most controversial measures were never enacted by the Labour administration.

Slogen51 - re.your last two posts.
There appears to be some irony in your supporting Truss because you don't want a socialist and yet she was strong on the Rwanda plan which, according to your evidence, was originally a "socialist" plan.

I’d suggest TealRain’s is even more offensive.
