Remember Upper Heyford with a lot of affection - always loved going there back in the day with a drive up Camp Road before deciding where to go, usually ending up at the end of the track at 27 end by the railway - Great, great days

I think the first time I saw an F-1-11 was at Biggin Hill show in 1972, when the display (as such) consisted of a couple of circuits. Thanks for sharing these with us.
DanBeeden wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 6:49 amSmashing shots and always keen to see more from UH. I just checked and it was yesterday (27th Oct) thirty years ago that was my final visit to Upper Heyford while it was still operational. Mum very kindly drove me down for the day during half term. Many great memories of days stood by the fence watching the action.
More please!

It was a little far for me to ride my bicycle there in a day !!
Spark Vark shot really makes me smile, was always my favourite.

Thanks, 30 years ago the last F-111E's left......such a sad day and a waste of a great airbase....
