Cheers! Been stuck in work all day so not had a chance to nip out for a look. The Bloxholme & Tower lane stuff does indicate the 'fun police' have been at play again. I was hoping common sense would prevail this time round...FlyingFairy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 3:59 pmThere wasn’t a separate TRO published for the last CW, it was embedded as an annex within the TRO for the on-going pipeline work, which had an 18 month validity, expecting to end early 23.
Having been down the A15 this morning, there are No Stopping signs plus No Waiting/Loading cones all the way from Tower Lane B1178 to the roundabout at the end of the new bypass. Also speed limits of 30 & 40 mph along various parts of the road.
There are also No Stopping signs on Bloxholme Lane.
So I doubt all of this is for the abnormal load?

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
Sorry to ask what could be a potentially daft question but does anybody know if the Reds will still operate from Waddington during the exercise?
Re: Cobra Warrior 23
Yea they'll still operate from Waddington.
No idea how busy they will be - they think they own the skies around here so might get annoyed having to factor in a load of other jets.

The RAF have just confirmed today the air forces taking part in Exercise Cobra Warrior, click here for details https://www.key.aero/article/breaking-e ... -confirmed
Re: Cobra Warrior 23
That's presumably on the back of the update sent out to Media this morning which also still lists the Indians as participating.
Would think (hope) they'd have the latest info...

The Indians are coming?
Confused.com
Information released today from the RAF regarding Exercise Cobra Warrior has confirmed that the Belgian Defence – Air Component, Finnish Air Force, Royal Saudi Air Force and Indian Air Force are taking part in Exercise Cobra Warrior.
Saudi turn up on Monday apparently

The Indians will definitely either turn up or not turn up.
That is the current situation in just about the simplest terms.

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
The press release was probably approved for release a few days ago, no doubt there were layers of authority necessary...
Re: Cobra Warrior 23
So much has changed in the last week.
Saudi A330 to Waddo Sunday - maybe, maybe not.
Saudi A330(s) to EMA Monday - maybe, maybe not.
Saudi Typhoons to Coningsby changed from today to Monday, now 1 bloke on FB is saying they've cancelled altogether, but no one else is saying that.
Saudi Hercs x2 to Waddo or Coningsby Tuesday.
Indians coming.
Indians not coming.
Indians coming with M2000.
Indians coming with Tejas.
Like Gary says the media release could be days out.
Waddo has a NOTAM out for no PDs etc from the 1st, and also a NOTAM out for ILS being U/S from 2pm on the first.
The only thing confirmed is Waddington is now home to all the no parking cones in Lincolnshire.

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
Excuse what may be a daft question, but why have the Saudis taken such a liking to EMA?
Even when the RE-3 was popping into Waddington, the A330 support went to EMA instead, let alone the frequent A330 stopovers (and visits from Hercules - but I believe those are related to the Rolls-Royce Derby factory).

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
So posts with nothing to back them up saying the Indians aren't coming vice an official media release saying they are. Hmm, decisions, decisions...

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
I have heard a rumour they like the Casinos - of which Lincoln has none. But Nottingham has 3 I think haha.
An A330 type has never landed at Waddo, we've had the 767s, An-124 and C17/C5 but never an A330.
Think Coningsby has had 1 visit from a Voyager back in 2015.
IF this one turns up, it will be the first.

Re: Cobra Warrior 23
No idea how one dept within the RAF thinks the Indians are coming whilst another doesn't unless there is confusion with their deployment last year which was scrubbed based on the Russian situation. Nothings changed so who knows ?
Re: Cobra Warrior 23
It is a bit strange that India cancelled last year with 5 Tejas because of the Russian situation, and now a story comes out that they've cancelled this year with the exact same jets for the exact same reason, after being rumoured to be bringing different jets for the past couple of months. Something seems odd. Aaaaagh well, we'll find out soon enough.

Talking to a Voyager Pilot at Fairford in 2019 and he said they don't fit at Waddington.

Nothing odd at all. The RAF cancelled the exercise last year, not the Indians.luke28 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 5:25 pmIt is a bit strange that India cancelled last year with 5 Tejas because of the Russian situation, and now a story comes out that they've cancelled this year with the exact same jets for the exact same reason, after being rumoured to be bringing different jets for the past couple of months. Have had an anonymous message to say India have not cancelled.
Let's wait until there's jets in the air haha
