The NOTAM has changed at least for the practice, see here https://www.facebook.com/groups/Conings ... 771779777/
So no routing over Marham now by the looks of things.
I am no pilot but looking at the diagram they will need to come in at the wash after forming up in area A and do a tight right turn to line up with Cranwell whereas the first NOTAM included a long straight run from Marham to Cranwell. I don't see how the new route would work.

Hi,
I looked at the Notams for this and the 100 flypast they look very similar so if you look at the RAF publicity map for 100 it gives a good place's to watch.so I am going to the London velodrome a part of the Olympic Park. Stratford rail and tube station is the nearest and 10 to 15 minutes walk or park in the Startford Westfield shopping centre .
If anyone has new information please post thank you

For the 100th I was on the roof garden of the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the southbank near Waterloo Bridge, individual aircraft and formations all photographable with a EF 100-400mm on a Canon 7D ii, hopefully the weather will be better this time !

Battersea heliport always used to be good to see from.
Haven't been there for a long time so may have changed a bit.

what he said, south bank of the river for an un-obstructed view. I was between Waterloo and Blackfriars for the 100, no problems, between 400 - 800 metres horizontally from the track depending where you are, Waterloo being nearest.

I didn’t bother posting this when I saw it

https://www.edp24.co.uk/things-to-do/qu ... lk-8947742

It’s not that helpful and seems a bit contradictory.
Not the sort of reliable reporting I’d normally expect from our local rag.
If you can work out the best viewing spot from this, well done :-)

Yeah I see what you mean, it does seem a bit odd. In 2019 Marham was used as the lineup marker and then in a straight line up to Cranwell.

Apologies if its been asked before but are there known re-deployments of jets to nearer areas yet: e.g. P-8 / Typhoons from Lossie to Waddington/Coningsby etc

The revised NOTAM is more in line with the routing they followed up until a few years ago; the right hand turn, they used Waddington as datum point then, was always fairly adjacent to my abode in South Lincs.

Some typhoons may come to coningsby from Lossiemouth as they want 20 ac available. They wont all be in the flypast but they will want spares. Would be good to involve most squadrons.

With regard to the 24th rehearsal and the Cranwell area B can anyone translate the NOTAM. It says things like "then a straight line to" - and gives a number. A grid reference, is this referring to the actual flight path or is it just drawing out the A, B,C areas in grid references.

They're coordinates that draw the area's shape. They are not the route being flown, as a lot of people seem to think on social media!

Thanks for that.
So does anyone have an idea as to the straight line approach to Cranwell, I did do a basic straight line from Marham to Cranwell to give a flight path but now that Marham is not in the zone I'm not sure.

From watching the practice from home in South Lincs, it has never been a straight line flight. The normal assembly point is Southwold on the Norfolk coast then towards Wisbech/Spalding where the shallow right turn takes place.

For the practice any helicopters join the entourage from the West and what should be a formation can be represented by a single aircraft, a role regularly performed by Cranwell King Airs in the past.

You also need to keep a close eye on the weather. Aircraft start to assemble over the North Sea quite a long time before the trail is established. If there are no aircraft assembling it is the sign that it is a no go that day.
