If you read the article it states quite clearly in the first paragraph that they are being based at Ørland, Norway. There is no mention of Fairford, or indeed the UK as a whole

Usually in front of the nose of landing and behind the tail on departure.
I think people were comparing the length of Fairford's runway with Ørland's.
Not sure it's length that's important though, it's how it's used.

Orland's usable runway is the same length as Fairford, 10,000 feet. Not like B-1Bs need to use all of it, just top up the tanks once airborne.

This is good news as it means their serviceability must have improved.

First support flights have arrived at Orland, coming from Dyess. So that confirms the deployment to Norway
