Maybe there is something going to enter that area - I was there a couple of months ago for the U-2 and the police moved all out of that layby / entrance as coaches of personnel had to enter the area. The coaches could then get a swing in there without a load of people in the way.

MoD Police Officer was a good chap that day though and did explain

I’ve just been told that Big Jet TV was there today.

But people have been parking there (Sensibly) with no issue for decades...
It was so bad the other day when we were there. Had to park down wash pool lane and even then couldn’t get any spaces. It’s been carnage
As I suspected - hence my post earlier this week about viewing arrangements. Part of the problem is that has been so little going on WRT airshows etc, even a routine deployment now generates way more interest than it would have in ordinary times.
Or there's some USAF people who don't like packed fence lines watching some of their aircraft while some MoD people who don't like encouraging public gatherings during Covid-19. What is tolerated this year will be different to what was tolerated last year - as we're seeing.

Wouldn't surprise me tbh. Though there's plenty of tourists flooding Fairford now.

Did they just move the cars on, or all bystanders?

The U-2 did call for 09 when on 133.75

Don't know what the weather is like there but in Newbury we currently have thunder and very heavy rain

I like that 'Swindonia' - makes it sound very picturesque! :D
