Re: WX., Thursday 11th inst.

Morning all I use this website (https://earth.nullschool.net/) to help with weather - or more specifically check wind direction. It also models the flow and other elements up to 3 days in advance (by 1 day increments) or 3 hourly. I've found it quite useful over the past year or two to check against...

Stealth Fighters headed to Europe? again

Morning all My apologies if this has been posted by someone else in another part of the forum - I did check the obvious places first honest! An article in Popular Mechanics online that I missed a few days ago reports that a fifth gen will be headed back to Europe before the 2018 summer is out: https...

Hearing a few bars from "highway to the danger zone" on the 492nd A2A today, about mid morning. I thought I was hearing things.

Re: 48th FW Update

Many thanks glencoe for posting the list. It gives many of us who are not local to LN an idea of which jets are or aren't (!) at home and whether to chance a visit.

Re: 48th Liberty Wing 2016 Previously Unpublished

Thanks very much for posting these photos, they're a really nice mix of people and machinery and as a new member of FC it's the first time I've seen a behind the scenes look at the base and some of the traditions of the people who work there. At the risk of asking what is hopefully not a daft questi...

Oversea's visitors to the Heath next year?

Morning all

Within an article on Defense Tech there's a paragraph or two on possible USAF European deployments in 2017. Maybe some/all will stage from Lakenheath next year, we can only hope.

Re: 14/09/2016 - ex-USAF F-15D deliveries

If these are the same airframes as per an article on FlightGlobal then they form part of a compensation package for the US/Iranian nuclear deal. It suggests they will be operational rather than for spare parts etc. https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/usaf-confirms-f-15d-delivery-to-israel-429...

Lakenheath/Mildenhall runway closures Thursday 17th March

Afternoon all First time poster but a long time reader. Anybody know what's happened at LN this morning? I was at home working and had the Bearcat on, I started hearing coms that first LN was closed, Ops unavailable and then A2A that "an Eagle had hit the deck" at Mildenhall? This was about 11ish so...
