They have only just painted that tail a bit pointless if you ask me hope it's there on Thursday for families day I havnt snapped it yet

I seem to recall the 15 Sqn anniversary tail jet isn't long for this world either.

It makes sense to me to put it on the jet with the least hours left, instead of the jets that are doing what we bought them for.

I haven't got a pic of it but then I never got the 2 Sqn despite seeing it go down the flightpath into Waddington the week before the birdy stuffed it...I never even saw the even more short lived 12 Sqn jet either.

I hope they still have enough left to reach the OSD whenever that is now

Grimlly, read earlier today on FC but can't remember where, that tail detail is a stick-on and not fit to fly. So will be peeled off before rtb MAM.

Also, in same article, there's a GAF and an Italian Tonka all for RIAT static.

I have seen a photo on the RAF Facebook page (I think) Which showed a line up of the RAF GAF and IAF Tornados with the stick on (non flyable) decals applied to the tails.

The codes for them being B-35 G-35 and I-35. And the 9 and 15 Sqn 100 years jets should depart Fairford tomorrow, unless they go u/s.

Interesting about the decals being non-flyable. I had assumed that all special tails were decals as the markings are on airliners. So does that mean that flyable specials are actually painted by some clever person? I'd like to know more.

ZG750/128 Noted in the BAE radar maintenance bay at Marham on Thursday 23.07.2015, unfortunately couldn't see the serials of the others in there.
