General Modelling?

Post by StuBie » Sat Aug 28, 2010 8:20 pm

Hi all,

Was just wondering why it seems to be taboo to have other type of models posted in this section? Looking through other posts people talk about doing other projects and not being able to post them as they would be out of place. I know that the main purpose of this forum, as a whole, is military aviation focused but we do have general photography and news sections??

I'm not trying to cause any problems here but I wondered why this hadn't been raised before (unless it has behind closed doors) ? I am also aware that my controbution to this section is pretty non existant due to a lack of 'modelling mojo' on my recent projects but it would be nice to see techniques and processes that people use on models other than aircraft to pick up some other tips and tricks.

I wouldn't say it was taboo but this is a military aircraft forum and thus we have to abide by the rules of the forum. But its a fair question and I will speak with the rest of the team.

good question and i think tecnquies and methods should be included here but as for other subjects im not sure?, there are some really good modeling forums out there that cover these for example Britmodller.com it has sections for all types of aircraft, vehicle, boat, sci-fi and every thing inbetween and i know a lot of members on here are on there also and there is more of a speciallity for modeling too it. i see no reason why these cannot compliment each other thats how i started on here looking at photos for reference for my models

well thats my humble opinion

Im getting the sense that people want things to stay as they are, I will see if we get any more views before I do any changes or not as the case may be :thumb:

Not sure if I`m `qualified` to express my opinion on this subject if you are a follower of my build threads..... ........, but...., I think FC sould stick to military aircraft models.

I`m not against tanks or ships or any other subject matters, but I think there are plenty of other modelling forums out there where these subjects would be better appriciated. ;)

(I`ll get me coat)..........

I dont see why not, after all the General Chat/Photography sections work well, and I'm sure not everyone in the model section builds planes only..do they?? :)
