A few old 'Frightnings'

Post by paddyboy » Sun Dec 03, 2017 10:45 am

Hi Peeps :P

Had my delving interrupted by the dreadful words from SWMBO..... :'(

'Time you got up into the loft for the Xmas tree and decorations' :grr:

3hrs later I have been released from duty, so sorted these old negs out ;)

Back to normal with the book-keeping, so zilch info on dates and places

Some great pics there. Always regret not doing much photography back in the 80s.

Yes that dreaded time again!! :grr:

As for the Lightnings - great stuff!

Always good to see those camo lightnings - and those F3's were a regular at the airshows :thumb:

Shot of the F3 getting airborne is a cracker

Hi Paddyboy...Great shots of AQ at Alconbury. That was my first show, after picking up my interest in aircraft again, & recovering from a beer hazed life
I remember it, by all the works they were doing at the time(1987). Nice scans BTW... :thumb:

Great start to the afternoon. :)
AQ's display was awesome. I recall his vertical departure. "Ladies and gentlemen, the pilot will report when he reaches 40,000 feet." We didn't have to wait long. :D

Well deserved cuppa PB. Lovely sequence of the last display ship AQ, esp # 6. That twin tub was @ Alconbury. I have a similar one. Always wondered who those unhappy snappers were gesticulating at to 'get out of the way' - now I know. Happy days!
