Maybe someone should start a petition on the Government website

'we the 51.7% of the electorate that voted find it unconstitutional to run a second referendum, as if the Remain camp had won the first one, they would not allow a second. The government cannot rerun public votes until it gets the result it desires'

Just heard that the ROI were not happy with their Euro result today and are asking for a rematch.

The second petition now has approx. 3,140,445 signatures. Here's what they're asking for - We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the Remain or Leave vote is less than 60%, based [on] a turnout less than 75%, there should be another referendum. Sadly, at least 77,000 of the signatures on this second (please move the goalposts until we get the result we want) petition were removed as being fake Allegedly 39,411 people from Vatican City (pop. 800ish) apparently signed it.

So that's 20% of the 'Remainers' minority so far have spoken - would that leave 80% (again of the minority) accepting the results?

And, wait for it (again), all this BEFORE (usual caveat) Article 50 has even been evoked! Look on the plus side - at least you will get to vote on a general election within the next 5 years (unless there's another petition).

I think one of the "best" lines so far from one of my generation (youngster!) is "I know absolutely nothing about politics or the referendum but I always knew leave was bad". Little wonder folk are despairing for the next generation with that sort of reasoning!

The ageism on display is disgusting. Just because so many of my peers have a slip of paper confirming "I'm degree educated" they seem to think they are up there with the intelligentsia of history. Life experience, learning and clout is worth every bit as much and arguably more than the aforementioned slips of paper.

It may be a statistic for forces posted abroad?

The same goes for saying X% of under 35's voted remain, and Y% of over 65's voted out. If that comes from official sources, then it implies they're tracking who votes for what. If it's from exit polls then Ok, but we all know how accurate the polls have been.

It's a statistic, taken from a poll which only covers a small percentage and is then interpolated to the number of armed forces eligible to vote. The smaller the poll the bigger the interpolation has to be and therefore the 'inflation' of margins. Trouble with these polls is that (it's been proven that) not everybody tends to be truthful about how they voted.

I did hear one 'official' poll statistic earlier today, that the ones shouting loudest about how we've ruined their futures , ie the 18-23 year olds , had the lowest turn out of any age group, with only 36% bothering to vote

As far as I understand, it's all done very similar to how companies get employee feedback, they group people together - never know who votes for what or who, just ages/sex/demographics etc...

Yes, but the implication is that not only do they know who voted (age/sex/demographic which I agree can be worked out from voting number), they also know which way you voted (which they can't unless they...) .

Here is a voting slip exactly the same as I put my x on, then folded and put in a ballot box with hundreds of others, then dumped on a table, counted and then stacked in piles. Leave or remain.
The only information (without checking Dna and finger prints) is what the vote is and the area the vote was cast in.

No. They write a number in the top corner of the ballot paper.

Then your ballot paper would have been declared void. It's one of the checks to make sure people don't stuff the box with fake votes.

Thank god for that then, I voted and can't get the blame for being right or wrong.

Ahh, but, the polling officer might have 'stolen' your number, and used another ballot with your number on it to vote 'their' way.
