Re: Joint Warrior
Not a bad day today for aircraft movements , 4 Typhoons & 3 Rafales up this morning with a nice run in & break over the viewing area by the French on their return which was much appreciated by all on the ground.
Same movements again in the afternoon with all aircraft on the ground by 16.45 & only then did the sun come out for the 1st time this week
.
A 2 ship of Typhoons should have dep about 17.45 but the 2 seater went tech leaving the single Typhoon to do a performance take off about 18.10

Re: Joint Warrior
Between 15.00 and 15.30 today A JFATSU T1 Hawk Call sign Cutthroat was on Spadeadam Range as he transmitted to Spadeadam that he was RTB Leeming, that Typhoons were due to arrive shortly.
At 16.00 Havoc 23 called up Spade acknowledging they were a pair of Typhoons and that Havok 21 also a pair of Typhoon in a 25 trail were also inbound to the
Range unfortunately they were at 10 k feet and obscured by cloud cover, so heard but not seen.

Re: Joint Warrior
A busy morning down at Leeming & with aircraft using 34 it made a nice change.
10.26 Razor a flight of 4 Typhoons called up req engine start , 10.28 Totem (the Rafales ) also req engine start .
Only 3 Typhoons taxied out & they had dep by 10.55 , followed shortly by all 4 Rafales who were all off the ground by 11.05 .
The 4th Typhoon looked to have gone tech then later req taxi & take off but failed again then just trundled round for a while before parking up again .
After being out less than an hour 2 Rafales called up to say they were inbound to land & the 1st one was given a green flare as he came in to land so did a go around to land after the 2nd one , not sure what the problem was ?? , anybody know .
12.20 I also heard Totem the 2 remaining Rafales doing AAR on 264.125 for about 8 to 10 min , they then came up on 269.325 req to leave the tanker & return to Leeming .
12.45 Both Rafales landed after doing a nice run & break coming past the viewing area , time for me to pack up & leave then for the run back to Carlisle but i did see 2 inbound Typhoons side by side on approach as I joined the A1 .

Re: Joint Warrior
Did anyone identify the 3 Rafales that launched at 3:10 pm today, Please?
(Along with 3 Typhoons closely followed by visiting Tucanos ZF205 & 287, although I'm sure that was coincidental !)

Hi Folks
Any of these likely to be visible on Sunday or all tucked away?
Regards
Mike.

Re: Joint Warrior
At the most you will probably be able to see 5 / 6 Typhoons with the the other's as of Thu /friday being worked on in the HAS's , the Rafales are out of sight in the 16 end HAS's just like the German Tornado's & Turkish F-16's before them .

Went up Sunday afternoon at 1530L and found these outside reading from left to right.
DW ZJ802
DA ZJ931
DB ZJ932
DN ZJ939
DH ZJ942
with another in H-20 being worked on.
No sign of the French from anywhere outside
Still 3 slack Tiffies in the bag

Yes it was, I took a photo but I don't have my camera on me today.Yorkshire82 wrote:Ahh i saw this French aircraft, was it white? I saw it circling near the base before it landed. I presume it did land?
Re: Joint Warrior
All
Last night (Monday) 4x Rafales departed around 1945 followed by 4 X tiffies - all departed by 2010 and returned approx an hour later. The notams stated the same opening times for the airfield today as it was for Monday (closes 2130) one can only assume there may be similar action this evenings- only guessing though - been away today so not sure if there's been much happening - if anyone knows what runway is in use that would be useful for me.
Thanks
Pete
