Re: SeaKing disposals
They had aHC.4 at DSEI advertising that they had them for sale. Lots of interest in surplus cabs it seems
So they might live on, and not all end in the smelter

Could you give me a steer? In my World, I can still hope to win enough on the Lotto today.
Is it possible that the Fly Navy Heritage Fund might obtain one for a flying demo?

There's no "go-round" in a glider.

They are looking at selling onto existing or new mainly military customers as far as I am aware

Re: SeaKing disposals
XZ591 isn't a 3A and that's been sold...
Re: SeaKing disposals
That's true Chris
591 comes from the original batch built in or around the 1978 timeframe, so I suspect unlike the 1996 Mk.3A cabs it was always more likely to go for spares
It may live on after that even if its a shell?

It's the last watch for 'A Flight' 22 Sq at Chivenor tomorrow (Wednesday 30th Sept).
I shall greatly miss their occasional flights over the house to/from the HLS at Blackweir in Cardiff.
Many years of life saving work - and a magnificent sight and sound! Hey ho.....
Farewell.

Re: SeaKing disposals
Thommg it seems that Chivenor is to continue its SAR for a while yet according to the local BBC.
"Private company Bristow, based in South Wales, was to take over on Thursday, but the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said that was no longer happening. It said operations from St Athan would commence in the first week of October but the exact date was yet to be confirmed. The service from Chivenor will be maintained in the meantime."

Further to Brian's comment about XZ586 at Duxford it did a low level fly-by down the main runway at Humberside en route.
