Yes I think since the USAF gave up their EF111 aircraft they funded a number of the EA6 Prowler fleet and subsequently the EA18G fleet.

C-145As are interesting - as what is shown is misleading.

Of the 16 shown as being current in June, one actually went into AMARG in May, followed by 4 in June and two in July. Thus leaving 9 currently in service.

Just been reading around - the USAF does indeed fly the EA-18G with the 390th ECS, based at Mountain Home.

I guess this is 'political', and part of the deal when the USAF retired the EF-111, when they wanted to 'keep a finger in the electronic attack pie'?
The 390th Electronic Combat Squadron (assigned to the 366th Operations Group) is stationed at NAS Whidbey, and is not an operational squadron (not owning any aircraft), but instead are tasked to train USAF aircrew alongside VAQ-129 for expeditionary US Navy EA-18G operations.
Maybe when the Marines retire the Prowler (if not replaced) they will also send a bunch of guys to Whidbey? Or maybe just not be bothered?
