Typhoon Overrun at RAF Lossiemouth

Post by cfett75 » Fri Aug 28, 2015 12:01 pm

A small selection of photos of ZK380/T of II(AC) Squadron on the grass after running of Runway 10 at RAF Lossiemouth last night. Crew are safe and well, and the jet had been pulled back onto concrete when I left.

It was certainly something different to look at today!

Well caught Chris, I wonder when we'll see that one flying again - 2017?

I don't think it will be to long Mike. It hadn't dug into the grass, or gone too far off the tarmac. I recon it will be a quick check over, clean off the mud and back to work, but who knows....

Not at all. I bet that pilot feels he/she did everything in their power to prevent what occured but for the technical faults that let him/her down. The fact is that a multi-million pound aircraft was saved with relatively minor (it would seem) damage and for that the pilot in charge will get a pat on the back.
