We heard them on the scanner yesterday down on the range at Holbeach, doing 'dry strafing cannon' runs, then the controller gave them ten minutes 'play time' !

There was no A-10s on the range yesterday, you most likely heard the F-15C

The full story ETUO-09 mentioned can be found here http://www.airforcetimes.com/story/mili ... /30238341/

Twas a bloke in the next car who said it was the Hogs, I must admit that listening to the controller it did sound like them too, so I can see how he was mistaken!

July 31st has been touted as the day the head home for a while. According to the Mildenhall Passenger Terminal, there are two flight going to Lajes on Friday, looks likely the A-10s could a distant memory by next week :(

Should add as of 10.46l 29th July no ALTRVs have been posted. If it is for the A-10s expect the ALTRVs later today or tomorrow morning and some Blue / Coronet call signs arrive at Mildenhall tomorrow

Just heard the A10's are due back In August. Does anyone know when and for how long. Next can anyone remember what their frequencies are?

Dont know Chris - On a visit to the 493rd ops room back in June I took a picture of their white board with the title 'Long Range Scheduling' - just found the photo now and it does read 'AA-10C's - 14th to 16th Jul & 25th to 27th Aug' - obviously things could change but a possible further deployment by another unit?

Cheers

At least 1 A-10 just arrived at Mildenhall. The coronet ALTRV / NOTAM for today was deleted, looks likely it will be posted for tomorrow
