Re: What builds are on your bench?
[non-aviation] I've got a new 1/35 Hobby Boss AAVR-7A1 Amphibious Assault Recovery Vehicle thingy to do. My favourite armoured vehicle, had to grab the model, even though its not aviation. And for £32, it was definitely worth it, once you have seen the quality!

Re: What builds are on your bench?
Nothing!
Bench has been cleared, and paint has been paint stored.
Nothing in my stash takes my liking at all!
I don't know if it's down to my bi polar, or I'm just bored!
My modelling mojo has taken has a vacation, I'm sure it will return someday.

Re: What builds are on your bench?
Im not to sure what to say,
I gave up a few years ago, but that was because I had to sell all of my stash. All I could suggest is try something different (dare I suggest it) what about some armour. Dragon do some cracking kits, ive got at least 4 in my stash so that when I feel I want to do something different I just have a go at one of them.
There is always the interweb, have a look at some modelling sites for some inspiration it sometimes works for me. There is always the group build, there are some really nice subjects that fall under the heading of 'Based Lakenheath aircraft through the years' in any scale. Especially as they new 48th scale Trumpeter F-100F even comes with heath decals.
Im sure your modelling mojo will return and the modelling section will be here when ever you need it.

Can we see this one on here please
I had ago at putting a motor in years ago but I was using Scalelectrics motor/power pack
There is a P51 motorised kit (cant remember manufacturer) with clear moldings and a realy nice big Revell Zero about. mmmmm
like that Zero.
On my bench, the Kyofu is nearly done, sat on its trailer, just need a new good quality brush for painting the canopy frames.
next up is the F100 for the group build. I must admit I have dry fitted all the main parts together (realy good fit) to see what it looks like, does anybody else do this ? Or can I just not wait

Re: What builds are on your bench?
I must admit I dont realy do it as much apart from to make sure the fit is good on parts before glueing. But when I was younger the first thing I did when I got a new kit was put the fuselage halves together.
It had to be done

It had to be done

Re: What builds are on your bench?
no its a bog standard motor stolen from a broke toy of my sons (it was a crappy plastic chinook) he proke the rotors off so after a bit of perswasion put it in the bin!!, so i took it out hit it with a hammer and stole the motor!!!!
Re: What builds are on your bench?
After a couple of attempted builds that haven't really gone anywhere I going to try and get serious and complete my 1st kit in a few years. Picked up the Academy 1/48th CH/HH-46D Sea Knight from my local hobby shop a couple of months ago for £18 so thought i'd give it a shot.
Found a fair few interior shots on the net but it anyone has any others or past experience of building this kit then I'm all ears! As good as it looks on the box I don't think i'll be able to do the 'stars and stripes' decals justice so think i'll go for the olive green scheme.
I've looked on the colour conversion tool web site but i'm finding it hard to find alot of the paints I need, can anyone help?
Cheers

Re: What builds are on your bench?
All the above are available in Xtracolor's enamel range. Are you spraying or hand brushing as Xtracolor are more suited to sprayingStuBie wrote:It does indeed, besides the standard colours here are some of the more specific ones:Does it say what colours are used, that way I can have a look at whats about

The Engine Grey is for the Dark Grey colourscheme, the 2 Grey's 36320 and 36321 I don't know where they get these from as the 2 tone Light Grey scheme is 36375 and 35237? So if you're planning doing the overall Green scheme you won't need them, also if I recall rightly the overall Green scheme is USMC Field Green FS34095 and not Olive Drab.

Going to do a mix of spray (from can) for the exterior and then by brush, not ventured into the world of airbrush yet.
