Re: Salute to the V-Force Tour Details
just seen her at Sunderland, mate and I took a trip to the museum where they have another parked up. great to see the Vulcan in the air, but the place is very depressing though, looks more like a used car lot than a museum, aircraft don't look cared for at all.
Re: Salute to the V-Force Tour Details
Hopefully all those that donated to the Vulcan will now donate to their local aviation museum...
Re: Salute to the V-Force Tour Details
The 'display' at Carlisle was great - loads of people.
Came in low from the Spadeadam direction, two circuits, the second of which was with high power, with a high power climb out and spectacular wing over to finish.
Sunderland museum - take a look inside - there's some beautifully cared for airframes.

From VTTS;
"Sunday 28th - important information for Day 2 of XH558's planned 'Salute to the V-Force' Tour.
You might be aware that a large weather front is now coming in from the west.
Hopefully, it will now clear ahead of the planned departure at 1300 Sunday, but there will be a full met' briefing by the crew and a Go/No Go call by noon on the day.
Please do not head to your chosen locations until you have checked the tour is going ahead as planned on this channel, our Twitter feed or homepage.
Thank you for your understanding. Have a great evening."

Re: Salute to the V-Force Tour Details
I'm keeping positive about tomorrow, just had a browse on metcheck and it looks like the rain might start to clear from the early afternoon onwards, so hopefully we may have a bit of luck on our side! Hopefully the approaching heat wave will push any rain away.
I'm still undecided whether to go to Southend, Norwich, or Duxford as all three locations are roughly within the same driving time away from home? Southend does seem tempting as I've not seen XL426 for a few years, and to see the RAF's two ex display Vulcans together would be something of a bonus!!!
Hope to see some of you and the big bird tomorrow

Accuweather looking much better than the Met Office/BBC forecasts so hopefully Accuweather will prove to be correct.TankBuster wrote:I'm keeping positive about tomorrow, just had a browse on metcheck and it looks like the rain might start to clear from the early afternoon onwards, so hopefully we may have a bit of luck on our side! Another weather check for tomorrow...
Looking at this satellite model it looks as if the worst of the rain will have moved away to the east by mid morning, leaving just a covering of cloud (which will probably be broken), the sun should have burnt off the remaining cloud by the afternoon.

Maybe XH558's crew will have a slightly later take off time as a plan 'B' to allow for the weather to clear completely? I know they cant change the flight plans too much on the day, but perhaps it is something they have considered?

It's a driech day in the Marham area, the real question is whether it will be visible. Signs of things brightening though..Vulcanone wrote:What the post above yours says.
