Australian Navy Squirrel Helicopter, UK, May 15 - ETD Update
Australian Navy frigate HMAS Anzac is visiting the UK after taking part in the Gallipoli Commemorations in Turkey later this month. Hopefully, it will be carrying a Seahawk S70B helicopter as it did on its last visit 10 years ago and had it out on deck while visiting Portsmouth. No confirmed dates or port visits are known yet. Seawaves.com has it visiting Portsmouth so time will tell. I think it visited Portsmouth and Plymouth last time.

According to the Australian Navy Facebook page, Anzac is carrying an AS350BA Squirrel helicopter.

Ship arrives tomorrow, Thursday 21st, at 1000. Let's hope the Squirrel is on the flight deck.

CORRECTION: Anzac is at 0800 tomorrow (21st), not 1000.

Its a SeaHawk

As at 11.30 a large Marquee has been erected on the Heli deck so no chance of seeing anything at the moment.

Really? From the photos on their website it looks like a Squirrel to me,as stated above! It is currently carrying N22-15/862 which is definitely an AS350 Ecureil (or Squirrel) not a SeaHawkjules50 wrote:Its a SeaHawk

The helo is hangared and not scheduled to come out unless for maintenance issues. The hangar is more than big enough so I can only see it coming out if the engine needs to be run. Our only hope is that they pull it out on departure day which is currently scheduled for Monday 1st June.
