The Swedes are not coming, this has been discussed over on UKar. However a Marinefleiger Sea King has been added to static display.

What options are there for campsites around Cosford ? Have local farmers opened up in previous years ?

It's looking like a great line up this year

I've just been reading the article in the link here viewtopic.php?f=287&t=113411 and it mentions that the Synchro Pair of the Typhoon and the Spitfire will hopefully be using the BoB Commemoratively marked Typhoon which then is listed as performing at Cosford this year

I guess my question is - does this mean that we will see the Solo Typhoon Display and the Synchro Pair, and if this is the case, will it mean we get to see the Commemorative Jet (ZK 349) and the "Special Tail" Jet (ZK 343)

RIAT really need to pull their finger out, cosford is looking like the best airshow it's had in years & at a fraction of the price of RIAT!

And a fraction of the participants too.. Yes Cosford is looking good, but unless RIAT manage to snag something from Asia or Africa, or maybe Russia(LOL) then its not going to see improvement on the same level. Don't forget Cosford has not booked anything that hasn't been seen in the UK before.

Was that just a malicious rumour re 6 SU 30s coming from India for RIAT ?

The rumour was that there was a detachment to Waddinton IIRC, but it turned out to be Italians that were due i think?? I stopped paying attention with that one, with the way it was going.

Didn't pay attention to the exact location as i have no way of getting there! But yea, 6 would make sense for a deployment. But for an airshow, i think somebody has let their wonkbonk loose.

Oh and reported elsewhere that the Apache role demo is attending, however the organisers have said previously they are not. Read into that..

Thinking of staying over night in the Cosford area, Saturday or Sunday night. Do any of the local farmers open fields for camping / spotting ?

http://www.hungerhillfarm.co.uk looks to be your closest - about 8 Miles away further up the A41 towards Weston.

Most of the land surrounding Cosford is owned by the Earl of Bradford's estate, so unless the estate makes a blanket decision, I doubt wether local farms will open their fields for camping.....even if they wanted too.
