Lardyboy's Patch Collection

Post by lardyboy999 » Wed Feb 18, 2015 12:50 am

Hey, look, there's a bandwagon! Best I jump on it!

A few from my Service career. About 90% are patches from units I've worked with over 22 years, or blagged off crews during my 13 RIATs on the Aircaft Engineering Team. The other 10% are bought patches from various airshows since I "retired" and some from shows attended as a punter while I was in.

So to business.....apologies for the quality, they're off my phone.

Image

First tour at TTTE Cottesmore 85-88. If anyone has a B Sqn patch they're willing to part with, I'll pay a decent price......

Image

Various RIAT Theme & personal patches

Image

Various RAF patches

Image

Tonka Toys

Image

Royal Danish - Starfighter patch is a personal favourite

Image

Dutch.....oh, yesh....

Image

Irish & Aussie, blagged at RIAT

Image

L'Armee d'Hair (think I bought these at Waddo)

Image

Aeronavale - a RIAT blag, one Sunday evening during a Hangar party, I seem to recall, it's a bit hazy.....

Image

Italians - the Frecce patch was from one of the crew at a Families Day at Cottesmore, the week before the Ramstein incident. RIP.

Image

Canucks - all from my second tour in Gibraltar 88-91 - I've rude patch from 405, but that's on my flying jacket......I've more PAX flying hours on CP-140's than any other aircraft!

Image

Turks. Blagged.

Image

Polish - from a detachment with the mighty 41 Sqn back in 2005 - I was the UK Range Controller at Nadarzyce for them during the exercise. The Su-22 bits and bobs are from the resident squadron at Miroslawiec where the Jags were flying out of - the centre one ia a RIAT blag.

Image

Spanish - RIAT blag. German Navy - Atlantique detachemnt in Gib. Saudi patch is a RIAT blag.

Image

Slavic selection - all RIAT.

Image

Lakenheath selection - worked with these fine gents many times over the years, so a mixture of F-111 & F-15 patches.

Image

Mixture of other East Anglian patches - as many PAX hours in KC-135s as CP-140s! It's not what you know......

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Finally, a few USAF/USN/USMC patches - a fair spread of "work" patches from Gib (Patron 8 patch from a P-3C flight - notice a pattern forming here?), the rest from crews at 13 RIAT's.

Hope these are of interest.

Nope. Off this site - https://www.astro-auction.com/cgi-bin/a ... auction.pl

I'm a bit of a space nut.

Thanks mate  I used to be a Shuttle fan, lost a little interest when they retired. Hopefully my passion will be reignited when Orion starts flying.

Great collection of patches by the way :thumb: Did the squadrons ever give you stuff when you was in the tower at Holbeach?

The 56 RQS patch was from them when I did a briefing at LKH before they started operating on the UK Ranges. That's about it, sadly.

Newest batch.

I do like these silhouette-style patches. Those French squadron links with the Rafale and Mirage patches look tempting.....

They look good especailly the 'Richthofen' one , didn't realise the Germans did them  I bought four of the French silhouettes at RIAT and have had to resist buying more from the squadrons
