12(B) Sqn info

Post by Gary » Sun Jan 04, 2015 9:29 pm

Around a week until 12(B) Sqn come to stay  If you hear a interplane freq or call sign the squadron use, can you please post in this thread. So we can find out if they are using II(AC) or 12(B) Sqn frequencies

NO movements please

II(AC) Sqn call signs
Chieftain
Deathray
Spartan
Sultan - Don't think it's been used since 2008, might have lost use of it
Valkyrie

Interplane
361.750 - primary
376.375

Former 12(B) call signs
Badger
Basil
Jackal
Vermin
Wolf

Interplane
240.3750 or 240.400

These are off the top of my head so might have missed some

SULTAN is registered with ICAO as being UAE Presidential Flight, so I'd imagine they've lost it.

375.45 was used a lot by 12. Haven't heard anything on it since last year.

From what i've read Gary both 12 and 2 are reforming/Standing up this week so we might be hearing them by the end of the week :Wow:

AOC No1 Group

''This week sees the reformation of 12 (B)Sqn, stand up of II(AC)Sqn on Typhoon & centenary of XIIISqn''

So far this week, no II(AC) or 12(B) Sqn call signs used or interplane frequencies have been used. At least a couple of II(AC) pilots have been up but as singletons and using their Marham call sign

According to the II(AC) Sqn association, the ceremony is being held in a hangar, so there might not be a flypast :( No NOTAMS have been issued for one either

Will be a real shame if there is not even a flypast to celebrate the life of the Sqn and time of unit using the Tornado :'( Are they forming up 12 (B) Sqn / Standing down II (AC) Sqn today?

361.750 in use today :thumb: former II(AC) Sqn interplane freq, at least that means scanner won't need to much reprogramming  Missed the call signs using it

Edit Marham 12 was on of the call signs, the jet is showing as the 40th anniversary jet ZD788
