Re: Whats the worst Kit You have ever bought and why???
Went to my email inbox today and noticed replies to my question about the Airfix quick build black Hawk. Being an idiot I managed to delete without reading the link. Would those kind enough to have replied please resubmit to me.
Many thanks.

In the absence of replies, has anyone considered a super detailing exercise of this kit? I am really interested.
Many thanks.

An early Heller Spitfire. Rivet detail a mile high.

I now have a new contender which you will find in the WIP section in my `Mystery` build.
Time, heat and storage are probably more to blame than the manufacturer though.

Why would you want too? If you wanted a detailed Hawk to build there's far easier ways to do it than these. They were never intended to be aimed at the serious modeler, and looking at the instructions of one here, i'd have thought it would be easier to make it airworthy!JEB wrote:In the absence of replies, has anyone considered a super detailing exercise of this kit? Go to be the Airfix Eurofighter Typhoon 1/72 kit! Horrible fit and was just naff! Replaced very quicker with a Hasewaga Typhoon FGR4 model in 1/72 and so far is a dream to build! I second what TC said about the Revell Tornado, as I am trying to do one wheels up but the overall fit is crap
Its the top fuselage part for me will not fitt and the air intakes at the front are not too good either, sadly the build is on hold. Mind you, go my Revell Merlin HM1 i'm doing and the Hasegawa Typhoon to keep me going presently!

Thanks for your reply seven. I appreciate what you say but as I am advancing in years and my eyes and dexterity are not what they once were I am looking at this kit as something simple and just wondered if anyone had done anything to make it look more realistic.
Thanks anyway.

I've got to say it's more disappointment on my worst kits, when I started my Aviation Hobby way back in 1986, I was given a gift of a Matchbox Model F-104 Starfighter, just didn't manage to get the hang of the thing tried to put it together but wasn't to be. Also a 1/72nd scale Mirage F-1 I got in the early '90s was just as bad as I got it together but it just kept falling apart. aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhh.

So bad you told us twice!Unknown74 wrote:I've got to say it's more disappointment on my worst kits, when I started my Aviation Hobby way back in 1986, I was given a gift of a Matchbox Model F-104 Starfighter, just didn't manage to get the hang of the thing tried to put it together but wasn't to be.
