Vera is showing on FR24 as airborne and slowly wending her way Northwards. Looks like she should be able to fulfil her revised programme for today (for details see BBMF News website).

Yep I agree that video is awesome.
Does anyone know if there is a flight plan out for the Lancs departure on Tuesday, I was at CBY on Sunday and there was a rumour the B.O.B flight and the Reds are meeting up to escort her out, but as yet I've not read any thing to confirm this.

It's been a fabulous few weeks with VeRA in our midst. Sadly there are those who have done nothing but moan since she got here - not enough topsides, display routine not adventurous enough, flying to high, too far apart and so on. OK, they're entitled to an opinion but IMO they've missed the point of her visit entirely. I could have enjoyed every minute of seeing the Lancs even without a camera. The poignant moments for me were when Thumper and Vera arrived over Little Gransden and the sound of their Merlins signalled the end of the minutes silence and then the sight of them again flying over Just Jane at East Kirkby - and yes I have shed tears. Between them they've flown a magnificent tribute to the surviving veterans and those brave souls who never made it back, the general public have been captivated by them and by this yardstick I'd say the visit has been an unparalleled success. So thanks guys for bringing her over. We'll miss the old girl but it's been great while it lasted. Blue skies, God's speed and a safe journey home.

Well said.
I've just left RAF scampton and it was quite emotional to see vera and thumper part company for the last time.
Hope they have a safe journey home.

Saw them both at Prestwick a few weeks ago and it was fantastic to see not 1 but 2 Lancasters, lovely sight.

A big thanks to everyone involved in 'Vera's' visit. It must run into thousands when you think of every aspect of the trip and every event. We may never see the like here again so we have been left with memories for a lifetime. If any of us are fortunate enough to visit Canada in the coming years please, if you can, return the compliment with a visit to the Canadian Warplane Heritage, I very much hope to.

Steve

An especially poignant occasion for me. My father was a Flight Engineer on 420 (Snowy Owl ) Squadron RCAF during the latter part of the war. Most of his ops were on the Halifax but his crew did convert on to Lancasters right at the end in 1945. I saw Thumper and Vera a few times and each brought memories of my father and a tear to my eyes. A very great thanks to all concerned.
