Have you bought any of the recent remastered copies of the first three albums ? In case you don't already know, best website for things Zep related is Tight But Loose, run by a fella called Dave Lewis, he's a top bloke and has the most incredible encyclopaedic knowledge of Zep, and has written a few books.

Went to see The Eagles at the First Direct Arena, Leeds last night. What a show! 31 songs packed into over 3 hours. Stunning performances of just about every one of their songs we know and love. Joe Walsh pitched in with 'Lifes Been Good'. Great to see Bernie Leadon playing with the band again. Superb encores 'Take it Easy', 'Rocky Mountain Way' and closed with an unforgettable rendering of 'Desperado'. I want to see them again.........!

Glastonbury starts proper today looking at the weather and photos, glad I didn't get tickets now  Looking forward to watching it though. If the BBC don't just show the same handful of bands all weekend like usual

BBC are streaming it too http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/errnc8

Having just sat through the set, I thought Metallica were at the top of their game by the time they got to Roam, just a little nervous up to that point. Awesome performance, they really kicked Glasto's a**e,and I thought vocally, Het has never sounded better! One was the best I have heard it live and I have heard it many many times over the years,in person and on dvd etc.
For all those detractors that said they were an unsuitable act for Glastonbury, how wrong they were and it also amazed me how many of the crowd were singing along and obviously knew the words of most of the songs...not bad for a debut metal act eh!
Cheers
Mark

Just back from Womad, can't list all the good stuff but two stand outs, Trombone Shorty, and Public Service Broadcasting. PSB really have to be seen to be appreciated, very imaginative use of WWII archive film, and they do a song called Spitfire, set to clips of First Of The Few and wartime archive.

If anyone lives Brighton way and likes original punk, head to the Montpelier Arms Friday night, some faces there you'll recognise, special one off gig.

Jim Jones Revue last night at The Forum Kentish Town, their last ever gig. Really high energy punky rock n' roll. Saw Hayseed Dixie a few weeks ago too, well worth it, they'll be touring again in the new year.

The Genesis documentary was pretty good, thought it could have been split over a couple of programs, it seemed rushed towards the end. What's the best Genesis album to check out from there early stuff?

Selling England By The Pound is my favourite of the earlyish stuff, Nursery Cryme is pretty good too. The albums all have their own atmosphere and style, I think a compilation album would miss that myself.

Just download spotify and away you go. I only downloaded it a few weeks ago and its fantastic. I like the radio function where you type in a song, and it plays loads of other stuff you might like.
