If you mean the bomb store - the buildings are no longer 'derelict' - refurbed a few years ago. There is a lane down the side of the area where I parked on Sunday - careful to pull over onto the grass as the lane has trucks going up and down during the week. Would advise that you find somewhere wide enough to pull over
Even on Sunday when I arrived about 1.30 could get in but it was about a 15 min walk back
Watch for restrictions though - police may have got more organised now

Parking at Eastern end
Re: Parking at Eastern end
Sites now in use but generally not that entrance so parking there is good but it's quickly getting full during current deployment. Suggest if full when you arrive ask guys there for other options. Happy hunting.Dan M wrote:Morning all,
Making the trip to Fairford tomorrow, and was just wondering if you can park in the entrance to the derelict airforce buildings on the other side of the road at the eastern end. If not, can anyone suggest anywhere else?
Thanks for any help
Dan
Re: Parking at Eastern end
Can't comment on the legalities, but on sunday there was a sensible tolerance to the parking on the path, there is room to allow pedestrians / bikes past, still some lazy idiots double parked and caused an obstruction.
Re: Parking at Eastern end
Yesterday the Police came down and asked that we kept the parking to one side only where that entrance narrows to the gate. Failure to do so would see the whole of that area coned off and no parking allowed there at all. Most people we passed that onto when they pulled up were quite happy to find an alternative place to go. If that officer is going to be a regular during this period then I would say bear this in mind when turning up there.

Police quite active today in moving people on if you were obstructing things. Anybody parked on double yellows on the pavements or obstructing gate were told to move with a threat of a ticket if they were spoken to again. Having said that police friendly.
