Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
Pretty sure i was hearing Radio Checks for FFD on Frequencey 124.800 a few hours ago..

Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.
Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
It may seem like that but in fact, the days between the C-17 visits and the start of the switchovers vary so greatly that their operations are clearly unconnected. Recent examples have been 33days, 22 days, 26 days and 12 days.big john wrote:Switchover seems to happen 10 - 14 days after the C17 drops in.Mike wrote:That's a good point - shouldn't there be a U-2 switchover very soon ?

Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
I have read all comments before i ask this question.. But i was just told that only 3 B-52's will be taking part in the exercise ? Its eight isnt it ? And apparently a logistics team and USAF Fire Engines arrived yesterday.

Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
Off topic slightly but there was a U-2 in the hangar during RIAT last year - could not be displayed due to the USAF cut backs for air displayswave scanner wrote:I think It left before the Friday morning practice session last year?Pune wrote:Could be, and if I remember correctly, wasn't there a U2 in the hangar during RIAT two years ago?Mike wrote:That's a good point - shouldn't there be a U-2 switchover very soon ?

Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
Would it be safe to assume that there will be no B52 action tomorrow? Most people seem to be saying Thursday and Friday for the arrivals.

Ive been told that there were 7-8 Trucks collecting Munitions at RAF Whelford today on rouite to FFD

Re: Exercise Sabre Strike
Maybe they are simulating weapons drops,so that is why they are using attual weapons /munitions ,but obsoulsy won't be dropping them, they might simulate the launch of them .
I think it's best just to wait and see what happens tommrow ,certainly don't rule anything out for arrivals tommrow ,because they don't have to use 09 to land they can still use 27.
Best thing to do I think,Is keep eyes on the sky's and keep ears on the scanner chaps .
All the very best as always

Weather tomorrow is not good - it's supposed to be raining most of the day.
And it's Idaho A-10 return day.
