LATEST UPDATE: 06/03/14
Our flying display was given a boost this week when the RAF confirmed it would be sending the Typhoon Display Team, the Tucano Display Team and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF). The Red Arrows have already been confirmed. The Tucano, Typhoon and Red Arrows will display on all three public days, the BBMF, comprising the Lancaster, Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota, will appear on the Saturday and Sunday.

In a letter stating stated that it is unable to send aircraft to support RIAT 2014, the US Army Europe (USAREUR) said it recognised the powerful part the Air Tattoo plays "when engaging with a critically-important international audience".

A senior military representative from the Royal Danish Air Force has accepted an invitation to attend RIAT 2014.

It might be a lot lighter when it leaves than it was when it got here.[/quote]
Yeah!...that happens to me too as I pooh myself in a fit of derision at the combination of civilian Helo's & duff weather.

Today's update
LATEST UPDATE: 13/03/14

The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) has confirmed that it plans to send a Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules to participate in RIAT 2014. For the past two years, the Arab state has been represented by a Gulfstream G-IV from 4 Squadron. In 2011, a RAFO C-130H attended along with the commander of the air force. Participation, it was stated, is dependent on a new airframe being delivered as expected in April.

The Italian Coastguard has declined an invitation to participate in this summer's Air Tattoo due to operational commitments.

Next Thursday (March 20) representatives from the Air Tattoo will be attending the annual European Airshow Council convention in Belgium during which, airshow Chief Executive Tim Prince will deliver a presentation to delegates on his 43 years in the airshow business.
Would be nice to have the Omani C-130 back :thumb:

LATEST UPDATE: 20/03/14

Boeing will be displaying its multi-role F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter on the Saturday and Sunday of the Royal International Air Tattoo 2014. Company test pilots will fly an example of the combat-proven jet leased from its main operator, the United States Navy. A multiple flying display award-winner on previous Air Tattoo outings, the Super Hornet is sure again to star this year.

Swiss chronograph manufacturer Breitling, a long-time supporter of the Royal International Air Tattoo, will be providing two display teams at the show in 2014. The Breitling Jet Team displays seven Aero L-39C Albatros jet trainers, while the locally-based Breitling Wingwalkers, flying four Boeing Stearman biplanes, perform a breath-taking sequence of acrobatic manoeuvres with the Wingwalkers strapped to the top wings of the team's beautiful biplanes. Both teams, regular supporters of the Air Tattoo, have recently promoted the Breitling brand in places as far afield as China and Japan.

In a letter sent to us this week, a senior representative from the Italian Navy stated: "Although I consider this important event as one of the most relevant aviation gatherings in the world, I am afraid operational constraints do not allow us to commit any crew or aircraft. I wish you the best success on this remarkable event."

I'll put my tin hat on for this comment, but am I the only one bored with the wing walkers?

Great skills and daredevilry (Would that there were such a word!) And the photographic results are excellent in the right light, but I'm just a tad bored with the same routine now...

Great update though, as i really enjoy both the Hornet and the Breitling Jet team.
