Nah,Kinloss is much better as it never gets any unusual stuff  (apart from the recent JMC participants and the 4 German Typhoons due at the end of the month  )

Anyway there's loads of Hercs at Lyneham, why would you want any more ?

Flight planned into Kinloss on Sunday.
NOW541 eta 1035z serial on the plan says 5607.
GNY4750 eta 1540z serial on plan says 6103. This is coming from Portugal, so is subject to the Ash cloud.
No other plans in system when I left work at 2315.

German Navy is an Atlantic on it's farewell visit. Goddamn me being away! But I'm guessing the ash cloud will get the better of it. I'm kinda hoping it'll be delayed to an evening next week.

But will they be able to land at Kinloss? Latest ash charts show Kinloss in the red zone until at least midday (and maybe 6pm).

Certainly those charts predict ash to be encountered withing the Scottish FIR but not in concentrations above the limits.

Hopefully the models arent to far off as they seem to predict the ash cloud moving back out into the atlantic by tomorrow morning and we can get a nice ash free day tomorrow in Scotland for the 1st day of the exercise

Certainly Edinburgh/Inverness and Aberdeen all operating at the moment.
