48 FW F-15s over Spadeadam range

Post by catkins » Tue Feb 25, 2014 10:54 pm

A brief visit this morning to Spadeadam range by at least two F-15s 'Trek 3 1/3 2' of the USAF 48 Fighter Wing (reports had up to four due but only two seen at one time). For once a bit of sun while they had about 10-15 minutes of runs over Berry Hill, with one good run straight over Wiley Sike, before they departed NE to head out over the North Sea. Fairly low level but mainly distant meant these resulting images had to be cropped a fair bit so apologies for the composite images and Photobucket artifacts but at least they give an idea of the 'action'.
The rest of the morning was quiet with cloud and cold, stronger winds meaning an early departure for me in the afternoon!

Good to hear mention elsewhere on this Forum of CV-22 seen over Yorkshire - let's hope they come to train at Spade in the not too distant future - forlorn hope perhaps?

Chris
