Nice log I went past the base this afternoon and saw the two Typhoons on the wash pan and I noticed on was DF but did not get the other one because me and my mum had gone past the wash pan before I could see what the other one was.

Regards.

Mark.

Mark,

Morning was EI & DF, afternoon was DF & BF

After the practice display, we all enjoyed the three sequential p.t.o.s from the south side - were they Razor 21/22 & Typhoon 78 ?

Captain Scarlet is indestructable, you are not! Remember this, do not try to imitate him.

Hi. New here so please forgive if any of this is simple or obvious.

Love these reports telling you whats been happening but I dont understand it all so if anyone can help with a few questions I would be greatfull.

Firstly "Reedham Reports" does this have any meaning or is it just a name who done it or similar

Secondly "ZK379/BB/29(R)Sqn marks/Typhoon T3 c/s “Chaos 21″ the Z Number being the serial number of the plane I guess but what are the 2 Letters immediately after the serial/reg oe BB on this occasion.

one last thing what is p.t.o.s "three sequential p.t.o.s"

thanks for the help and sorry if there dump questions

Hello there.

These are not dumb questions - everybody has to start somewhere (I was in your position a couple of years ago).

"Reedham Reports" is just as you say in your question i.e. it was compiled from Reedham Lane at Coningsby.

In response to your second question: The first part is indeed the serial and the second part "BB" in this case is simply the code applied to the tail of the jet. For jets in 29(R) Sqn marks all the codes will begin with B followed by another letter as you've probably noticed whilst reading through the log.

And finally "P.T.O" refers to a performance take-off where the pilot will apply full reheat and then climb vertically from take-off.

Hope this helps getting you started!

Steven.

Thank you for the info Stephen..

Never heard of Reedham Lane but googlemapped streetviewed it and looks a good viewpoint. Think I will have to try that rather than the car park next time I visit my mum.
