ADB GB 1/72 Airfix Tucano What if?

Post by Typhoon2 » Fri Sep 13, 2013 6:04 pm

Hi all, :thumb:
A late entry from me, after looking through my stash and drawing a blank, I then had a brainwave to turn my Tucano, which was in its early stages of me building it, into an Aggressor what if build; this will be my first what if build ever! So, here's where i am at with the build. I have drilled some holes from the Bombs and also carved the end of the wingtips so two sidewinders can be attached. I'm also going to attach a 50 cal machine gun to the wings, but i will attempt that later. As well as all this, I have borrowed some spare, stronger, landing gear from the spares box, to give the aircraft more stability when its at its full pay load. 4 squadron will have the honour of flying this wonderful bird!
The pictures:

Here you can see the drilled holes and I have also carved the wingtips so the sidewinders can fit on

Thats all for now, next jobs the main assembly and painting, now which colour to paint it in.....

Quick update, the wings are glued together and so is the fusalge, but I've encountered a slight problem with the fit, so the sanding stick is out! I'll hopefully have a picture update by tonight!

Well, here's the update!
the following pictures are where I'm at at the moment. I thought i could do splinter scheme for this, but how wrong was I! it looked awful, so i reverted back to my original plan and its now a drab green. Should have it finished by tomorrow might, or maybe Saturday.
