Steven.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling they are talking about the RAF tonkas and Typhoon which are already attending

Earlier on in the build up DBH mentioned a RAF Typhoon meet. Looking at the line up, either there's still a few RAF statics to be added 1(F), 3(F) 6, XI, 41(R) Squadrons Typhoon, or the RAF Typhoon meet has gone the same way as the Tiger meet which is purposed most years

I've got a question regarding the P&V. I've never been to the P&V West, so it might be a stupid question for the one or the other but:
Is it the same as on the east side?! A special area for the stepladders?! I'm asking cause it looks like we'll have westerly landing direction during the Fly In on Wednesday and Friday
How to go there (by car)!?!
thanks for your help

Friday P&V is £15
Friday is usually very busy with final arrivals and practise displays

P&V West does not have a separate area for stepladders. The enclosure is a lot smaller than P&V East, and does not have the same facilities.
to get to P&V West go through Marston Meysey on the road called 'The Street', there's a right fork at the north end of the village, that track leads to the P&V west entrance.

I would think (unless thre is a very strong wind) that it will be very unlikely for there to be a West to East Landing direction, it's only be changed that way once in the last 10 years to my knowledge.

Thank you very much for the reply. So hopefully it will be as usual: from east to west

Two spectacular joint flypasts featuring the world's premier aerobatics display team, the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows have just been announced for next weekend's Air Tattoo.

Saturday 20 July
The RAF Red Arrows will fly in formation with British Airways' brand new Airbus A380, the world's largest commercial aircraft. The giant, two-decked airliner is the first of 12 ordered by British Airways who only took delivery of this aircraft earlier this month.

Sunday 21 July
The RAF Red Arrows will perform a flypast with an Airbus Military A400M, the RAF's future transport aircraft that is scheduled to replace the legendary C-130 Hercules when it enters service in 2014/2015. The A400M was officially named 'Atlas' at a ceremony during last summer's Air Tattoo.

They'll land from the west if there's a component of wind that dictates it.
Flight safety being the main concern above whether it's convenient or not for the 'public'.

Same principle applies, if the wind component dictates that 09 is used, then 09 will be used.

Are we going to set up a FC Meet for those attending alone?

Given the comparisons that have been drawn to 2011, there was hope from some that the press day might lift the lid on a "star item", as happened two years ago when the participation of the Ukrainian Su-27 and IL-76 was formally announced. Tim was unable to confirm anything, telling us "I'm not a liberty to say yet but work is continuing. There is a possibility that two new countries will attend."
Anyone have an idea as to what these new countries could be ? Or if we will even see them attend at such a late stage ?

Isn't estonia a 'new' country?
Talks continue with Iraq apparently.

I believe Estonia has already visited RIAT at least once with a Let410 in 2004.

Ok great, thanks Chris, guess this will be the first time they have used 09 for deps, can't find any pics! :S
In 1991 they used both ends. Basically, those parked West of the tower departed from 09. Those departing from 27 had a tailwind, if I remember correctly.

How old is this quote and where's it from? :)
Chris

It's from UKARs coverage of this years press launch. So about a month old

stealth1234

I would say it's unlikely at this stage, unless they are keeping a couple of surprises like the A-10s 2 or 3 years go etc
