Double Mambas from '88

Post by paddyboy » Fri Apr 12, 2013 3:37 pm

Hi Peeps :P

These were in a large box marked 'possibles'

Am still going through them, so put these ol' pics up ;)

I think(?) they are all from '88; either 'Hall or Norwich :S

Possibles?!
Theres no way these could be considered 'possibles'!
The lighting on those airborne shots is fantastic. . . . And against that blue sky they just look the business!
What a great little set, well worth posting up.

That first couple of shots are really well taken and scanned Patrick. :)
If my memory serves me, :S this Gannet came from Carlisle at some point.
It seems impossible it carried the same radar unit that went from it to the Shackleton. :O
Either way I loved these from the moment Of first sighting,at a Summer with the ATC
in 65/64 at RAF Watton... :thumb:

Paddyboy.
Brought back great memories of seeing this machine when it was a BDRT machine at Leuchars! Couldnt believe one of me mates when he told me it was flying out and onto the show circuit!!!

Where is this now as i understood that it could be put back in the air with some effort in certain areas. With people at least trying to get one flying, it would be great if XL500/XL502 and XT752(in the US) could be brought together to get at least one out the 3!
Arabest,
Geoff.
