Milscanners link

Post by big john » Mon Mar 11, 2013 12:21 pm

The MilScanners link does not appear to be working, comes back with, The requested URL / was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Has the site gone or just a server crash?

It is indeed and will be for the foreseeable future. Hope some people found it useful even though some others moaned non stop about it.

Apologies for the inconvenience to those who found it useful.

Couldn't agree more, superb resource.
Thanks to all concerned, let's hope it's not because they felt unappreciated.

cant add much to what Rich has already stated, also thanks to the other members for the supportive words  . Whether or not it comes back time will tell but will probably be individually password protected as unfortunately we have found our data ripped off and used elsewhere with no acknowledgement :@ , that has happened a few times that we're aware of.

In the meantime the forum can be searched for data as can the milscanners group mail archive, failing that I'm sure Rich or myself will help (depending on available time due to other commitments of course!)

Very sad to see this has disappeared. It was extremely useful. I'd even go so far as offering free hosting for this for a while if it meant getting it back online.

Due to remarkable response from some people and one person in particular not to mention the great people out there in this hobby, it could be that Milscanners database will be back but in another guide (not .co.uk). I shall keep you updated.
We shall try our best to keep it as updated as possible but that only works with correspondence from people in this hobby, in particular on milscanners and fightercontrol of which report new and out of date frequencies and callsigns.

If we can find the time to update it several times a year, it will be the most up to date and FREE database.

Many thanks for the kind words on this thread. It means a lot to the team.

Great news. Maybe have a sign up system would be a good idea?

Dear Members

The Milscanners databases are now officially back online after a few weeks away. Thanks goes out to Dave Mulligan for offering to host the site and set it up and the work he has put in to get it up and running quickly.
It is now a register only site. So members will need to register an account to view the frequency and callsign database.

Can i ask, if any members find new frequencies, or changes, to contact the Milscanners team using the appropriate facility on the website. Or to post it on the milscanners group of course. This will help to keep the databases right up to date.

Thanks for your patience and support.
