The blue cross sale started on Saturday as a last ditch attempt to get some cash :(

Tim,
I was in the Frenchgate HMV over Christmas period and picked up some great bargains

I seem to recall HMV being on the verge of calling in the administrators back in 2011? As for their prices, well, I purchased a couple of DVD's just before christmas & they were nearly £5 cheaper over the road at WHSmith than what HMV had them on the shelf for! Glad I got them from WHSmith ;) .

It will be a great shame if HMV go as there will no longer be a single store of that kind in Colchester! HMV is the only music shop left here & I guess its the same at many other town centres across the country.
I remember the days of... Andy's Records, Our Price, Virgin, Zavvi, Woolworths. Even Boots used to sell CD's!

TankBuster
And there's plenty more where that came from!

Best ever gig, The Stranglers at the Odeon, Brum in '85 (blew my socks off, awesome)

One of my friends saw the Peter Gabriel show in the states last year, said it was brilliant, is it the 'So' concert ? Didn't know Steve Hackett was touring, I saw him live in the early 80's, very very good.

Yes it is the 'So' concert.

Steve Hackett is doing 'Genesis Revisited' and we are seeing him at Hammersmith. The Album is very good.

Got my ticket for what will be a real bittersweet moment seeing Wilko Johnson on 6th March in Camden. I wonder what it will feel like.

I saw him about two years ago in a pub in Dublin with Norman Watt Roy on bass, brilliant gig! He played three nights such was the demand to see him. It'll be a bit strange going to see him now considering he's unlikely to be still with us by the end of 2013... :(

I first saw him at Knebworth in 1978, and here and there a few times since, met him and NWR at a festival a few years ago, and he played a tiny place in Tunbridge Wells a few times in the past two years, absolutely fantastic. As you say, a very strange situation, the farewell tour to end all farewell tours.

I hope it's not because I'm getting old but I don't 'get' this Jake Bugg phenomenon that's going on on Radio 2 at the moment. He's from Nottingham , as am I, he's a Notts County fan, as am I, and his music is aimed at my sort of person ..... But i just don't like it !

I have just sat through the Brits and I'm lost for words, is there no level faceless record label bosses won't go. Just to shift a few more albums of another run of the mill boyband? Shamelessly making up an award to give to one direction for selling bilge to hormonal teenage girls :grr: that one award basically sums up everything wrong with the music industry. :grr: :grr:

Most so called 'bands ' in the charts won't stand the test of time.My fear is we're losing musicans who can actually play a musical instrument!!!.
The focus the last 10 years has been on vocals with (sorry to say) The X Factor and the other one on BBC.Mumford And Sons seem to be the only answer at the moment and don't get me started on Coldplay!!!.
Maybe Ive been spoilt by having bands like The Jam,The Who,Pink Floyd,Dire Straits,Metallic and my fave all time band U2 ringing in my ears.
It also amazes me that one band gets over looked EVER year...Depeche Mode like them or loath them Theyve been on the go for nearly 30 years without the record industry's praise.
I hope something new is coming soon as I'm getting bored and maybe too old for all this hyped up ringtone music!
At the end of the day..it gets dark and you cant see!!!!
