Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
Was that before or after they donated it to Gainthorpe (where it was for many years, on public view!)
Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
I found this link on Google while searching for any info about the Draken
http://forum.keypublishing.com/archive/ ... 84150.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I cant click on the ebay link in the post, as I am at work
Also this link about halfway down the page

Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
Judging by the information that exists it, in all likelihood, still belongs 'officially' to the RDAF, if it was originally loaned to the previous 'owner' and should not actually have been sold other than for scrap by the RDAF! So was this bought for 'scrap' from the RDAF or was it unofficially sold by someone who didn't actually 'officially' own it and have permission to sell it in the first place?
I can see now why Mr Jedwood doesn't want anyone to know he has it! I hope all his other airframes are not subject to the same questions or he may find himself in deep water (look out for the KGB regarding Mig's and Mil's)!

Could this be the guy who owns the SU17s and Hinds at Hawarden, if so just remember he did let 2 migs go to newark where they have really taken care of them and are stunning now. Looks even better at night

Well, there's one way to find out...

Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
John I can assure you that most people on here would ask first before visiting. I understand your reticence about the situation and no i would hate people turn up at any time of the day. It is just that it was seen on Google earth and bing maps and naturally its curiosity. On the Sukhoi and jaguars, are you intending to put them into one collection or keep them in their places they are now.. This is the only reason this thread was put up here as nothing much happens round there apart from the odd toy and train fair at Reebok stadium. So there is no need for such hostility and it is great that you have spent so much on the Draken, its great someone has the money to do it therefore keeping a rare aircraft in this country alive.
I am also sure that if you ever need any help conserving these aircraft you would get the help you need. I know you have had some bad experiences but please dont tarnish the majority who arent like that.

Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
I believe that the aircraft was actualy swapped for a Whirlwind which went to the Danish Air Force Museum.
I doubt therefore that there was any restriction on its subsequent disposal
F-35 Draken A-011 (SAAB A35XD c.n. 35.1011). Based at Karup from 11. Jan. 1971 (4:00 flying hours), till 1. Sep. 1993 (3.046:00 flying hours). RDAF 725 Sqn. Exchanged for Sikorsky S-55C "884", now restored and displayed at Stauning. http://www.flymuseum.dk/fly/flytekst/s-55.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

John/Draken29
Never thought there was any problem with the Draken as many have been sold to the USA
Well done for preserving what you have purchased.
If they are in 4 units I presume that they are undercover, which is a big plus for their long term future.
I wish you success with your collection

Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
Would an open day be possible to see these aircraft? With donations payable to a local charity or similar? It would certainly reduce the number of people that are trying their luck to see the aircraft and causing you issuesdraken29 wrote:Some people are a joke this Draken was on ebay some years ago I offered cash an I bought it. There are no issues with it the RDAF informed the exmuseum to dispose of it if it wasnt for me it would be long gone. The mig21 and su22 are off ebay usa for anybody in the world to buy. The rest are tender bought or from other collectors. I came on here to say no uninvited people they are in 4 units I rent. Up to now only a small amount of true people on here the rest are total WOPPERs.

Drop me a PM if you'd like to discuss further, I'd be happy to help...
Re: Whereabouts of Saab Draken A-011
Was the Su-27 bought from the USA as well?

Well, you may have got the cash to splash....but that's certainly not bought you good grammar, or people skills.

Do you not think statements such as this are just as 'childish'? I have no interest in your aeroplanes and you may do with them what you wish, but please try and avoid comments such as 'pathetic you just exist' as all they do is alienate yourself.draken29 wrote:Ha ha . Another idiot good grammer an people skills. Grammer no skills yes brain yes. Im selfmade worked very hard no one has given me nothing. People with childish comments are pathetic you just exist. You live then you die try doing something. Thats why I dont want there kind. Say all the comments you like at the end of the day take a good look at yourself yep its rubbish .
It is true that some enthusiasts don't respect people's wishes, but, as said above, the majority do and are probably on your side. Responding to childish comments with more childish comments only makes the situation worse.
Just my 2p. Feel free to dismiss this as childish nonsense

Hi all,
I assume Johnedwards / Draken29 has ony joined Fightercontrol to wind people up....he has only been a member under both names since 4th January 2013!!!! The more I read his responses the more I wonder if he really has the collection he is claiming. If he has good luck to him. The easy way is for him to show some pictures. If I had the airframes I would be proud of them and have pictures to hand on my phone and computer, including restoration progress. I would also be keen to show the aircraft to fellow enthusiasts, with prior arrangement. Whats the point of having such a collecion just to lock them away for your own personal gratification.
Regards
Brian

I appreciate that in normal circumstances it’s considered poor forum etiquette to link to your own posts / threads – but in this particular case I thought – why not?
