Payerne 9-10-09

Post by Vixen1 » Wed Oct 14, 2009 5:53 pm

The final part of the swiss visit was to Payerne, where, for once it wasn't foggy. Things have changed there now, you can't get onto the top of the shelters on the South of the field but the gate at the road across the runway sufficed.

Here's a selection:-

What a loverly set of shots from a great location. Shame to hear about not being able to stand on the shelters. Do they still come out and let you know when flying is starting and ending for the day?.

Andy, they don't come out to tell you about the timings but the gate on the road across the runway is closed whilst flying now. There is also a sign at the barrier now too. We did get a visit from the cops but that was to make sure we did not go onto the base like the occupants of the tour bus who were asked to get off the top of the shelter. The cops were very pleasant when they knew we were going to stay where we were outside of the perimeter.
