First timer, help needed please.

Post by rapidk » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:47 pm

Hello all, I have recently started getting back into planes after being amazed by them as a kid. So I have booked a week off work and I am taking a trip to the mach loop? I was just wondering a few things if any of you guys will be kind enough to help? Here goes. will they will fly over easter? Is it busy nearly every weekday? Is there any good campsites nearby? And where abouts to go? Cheers guys Neil.

Hi Neil,

The hawks at Valley generally fly 8-5 Monday to Friday. Though this week sees night flying. Campsite is in Rhosneigr at the end of Runway 31, you can see the threshold about 1/2 mile from the site.

Mach loop is hit and miss, one day you can have everything in dreadful weather, next day clear blue skies and nothing.

Sorry don't know where to stay near loop ad I drive therein the day,

Hello Neil,

A lot of the guy's who go to the loop use the Bunkhouse and Campsite in the following links:

http://www.snowdonia-wales.net/acc/camp ... efault.asp

http://www.snowdonia-wales.net/acc/bunk/torrent.asp

I have never stayed at either site, but I have spoken to plenty of guy's on the hills who recommend them.

Hope this helps :thumb:

Wrap up well mate, they are forecasting snow on Tuesday..... typical, I have a day off on Tuesday and was hoping to be somewhere in the loop myself!!!
I'll wait to see what the weathers like before making a decision, but may see you up there!

Good Luck.
Stu.
