Re: Aviation Patches
Maybe Squadron Prints may know this, is there likely to be a Typhoon No.1 Squadron Patch available at the Leuchars Airshow? Just I've got the 6 Squadron Typhoon Patch and I wondered if the 1 Sqdn version with Typhoons would be available.

Re: Aviation Patches
Just spotted this thread, love seeing some of these patches! Thanks for giving me the impetus to dig out "the box" and have a rummage through, here's about a third of what's in there !
Bombers

What 20minutes at Miramar show will net you (apart from a hole in the pocket!)

and a few from Mugu and Yuma (Tomcat ones from Brize and MH in '93!)

Edwards, the white one isn't a patch, it's a flight crew luggage label for the now retired Speckled Trout C135C !

some from Lakenheath

F111s

A10s

Desert Storm/Shield

Phantoms

F117

I don't have many RAF ones, when young, crews just used to wear sqadron crests at shows, and they held little interest to me TBH!

A few more "local" ones

also picked up a couple of flight scarves over the years too....

digging through this lot brought back some memories of past shows for me, hope it does the same for some of you old enough to remember!

Re: Aviation Patches
Nice patches ! I've been a collector on and off over the years, started with USAFE and RAF that I scrounged off the aircrew in the days when you could get away with it. Then more recently via ebay, although I find it difficult to find genuine patches these days, as so many now seem to be mass produced for the collector market. Even down to some frankly dodgey velcro added to potentially increase value, particularly on the patches that I'm interested in from the 80's. Anyone else find that problem?
Victor 5...I like your SMG stickers I remember those !!

Re: Aviation Patches
Yes, the 12 Squadron Bucc (Maritme Attack) patch I would love, didn't get one when I worked with them in the early 80's! ..but there is one particular seller, as you say, who must be mass producing them ...and Victor..... and Canberra patches . I agree, he should state reproduction or modern copy but I guess he doesn't have to....seem good copies though. In the main I collected the units I have worked with ...but I got a bit carried away.

USAF Patches
As promised here is a small selection of usaf patches I have collected. I love the dessert tan and subdued type of patch. At the moment I am sorting out doubles, so I can trade, or sell on. I am looking for mildenhall and lakenheath patches at the moment, along with any wing and squadron patches, if anyone can help?. I have quite a few of the air command patches, and Tactical air command patches.
Enjoy looking at them, and watch out for my patches for sale on this site. I will swop for mildenhall/lakenheath patches, if you tell me what you would like & if I have it spare.
I have more than this, with some patches doubled up, & not even downloaded onto the pc yet.

Re: Aviation Patches
Thank you to Gill and Berry and the people of Squadron Prints I now have the patches of both 1 and 6 Squadrons a perfect set of the 2 Typhoon Squadrons of that fine RAF Base RAF Leuchars. Will miss it terribly when the Army take over.
Re: Aviation Patches
Hello, New to this forum, but well pleased to find fellow collectors of squadrons patches. I've been collecting memorabilia and patches since the age of 15. Must have over 3000 patches now. A selction of those can be seen across the web on F-16.Net and the Collectaviation forum.
Hope to contribute here as well.

Re: Aviation Patches
I'm not sure if this is the sort of post that this thread is after, but I've been responsible for designing the patches for 19 Sqn and IV(R) Sqn since the introduction of T2. It is a truly laborious process and at times a thankless task as the proposed badge design needs to get the buy in of the entire Sqn. Recently I designed a one off 6000+ Hrs badge for one of the Sqn pilots with the silhouettes of his main aircraft types melded with the standard IV(R) Sqn arm patch.
In terms of my collection, I have all of the badges accumulated since 1996; lots of cracking badges from EMUAS, 2 Sqn Tucano, 208 Sqn, 19 Sqn and XXV(F) Sqn. Generally, these badges adorn the dolls owned by my 2 year old daughter as I really don't know what to do with them!
If I get the chance I'll post some up here.
Regards,
Cheesy
