Remember to check out the NOTAMs(Notices To Airmen). Sometimes the station has non-flying training days during the week.

Type in EGXC

If the airfield is having a training day it will normally state 'AD Closed' (Aerodrome/Airfield closed)

I told you all already , he's doing missionary work in Scotland (Trying to convert the natives!!!)
