Gannet '88

Post by paddyboy » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:58 pm

Hi Peeps :P

Managed to scavenge a few from my only Gannet shots, all taken in 1988; think they all from the 'Hall, as the only other time
I got to see her was at Norwich's aviation day, the day that some scumbag nicked my OM4TI when my back was turned
for 30secs looking after my then 8yr old youngest nephew :@

Never got it back :( :@

Hope they are worth a look anyway

Hi Guys :P

Thanks for looking, and the great comments :thumb:

Much appreciated, as I was a little bit apprehensive about them, as no one seems to put any up, and these were all from negs
so I was a bit dubious how they would turn out; if any of you have any more, PLEASE add, as IMHO, we never see enough shots of this sadly missed ol' beasty ;)

Cheers

An often overlooked classic, and some stunning captures of her!
The airborne shots are sweet as a nut unc!
There was a great episode of the "classic wings" programme on the Discovery channel recently. The old girl's got quite a history!
Well done for putting these up. . . Cant say i've seen any others on FC?? :S

Hi Peeps :P

Thanks again for looking, and the nice comments ;)

Doodlebug; I had 2 lenses with me that day; luckily, I had my Sigma 400mm F4.5 in my backpack with its 2x converter, but the lens I 'lost' was a Vivitar 95--310mm F5.6 :@

I was NOT a happy bunny all weekend, and I certainly learned a lesson the hard way: it had taken me an age to earn enough
to buy that body GGGRRR!

Thanks again guys, glad you thought they were worth a punt :thumb:

Best regards

Well here you go sir, sorry for the grim quality, the old boy was only 16 at the time, armed with a 'box-brownie' type device.
Taken around 1969-70. May be worth including for the 'historic' value.

The pictures are great but how good would it be to hear the sound of that once again.
