Just wondering if any one has taken the plunge and bought either/both 24th airfix mossi, 32nd tamiya spitfire. Unfortunately Ive got quite a bit in the pipeline to splash out on these yet (maybe march time ;) ) so I was just curious to see if people have got them and what they think.

They are literally stacked up in the model shop in Hull. I expected them to be turning up on ebay for silly money but maybe they are already just too expensive.
Over on Key forums somebody has been looking for civilian schemes, looks like he is going for an all over blue air racer scheme. Now that will be realy nice.

Anyway go on viper, you know you want one. :P

I'm waiting until I've got a bit of spare cash and then I'll probably get a Spitfire as I've had a careful look at one that my mate bought and it's truly irresistible, even though I'm not even a big Spitfire fan! Outstanding kit, top class quality. Just a shame about the hideous price tag!

As for the Mossie, I'll wait until the hype from the WWII buffs dies down and the kit starts coming down in price. When you consider that the Nimrod went from about £45 down to a tenner, I guess it wouldn't be a great surprise if the Mossie comes down to £25 through some suppliers eventually. It's a nice kit but it's nowhere near the quality of the Tamiya kit (even though the fools on a couple of modelling sites are determined to convince themselves otherwise) and it's certainly not worth a hundred smackers - nothing like that figure. To make matters worse, the real Mossie doesn't have masses of panel lines and rivets so even if it was the most detailed kit ever made, it would still be depressingly plain. I'd definitely advise patience as it's bound to come way down in price - just a question of how much!
