Pure speculation, lets and wait and see ehwendyp wrote:from what i have heard and read the injuries
were from ejection through the canopy which did not blow
and shoot did not open

Re: Red Arrow incident - breaking news
What I was referring to was the fact that normally the jet would be covered and removed from public sight. But fair point, with a camera, guess I left myself open to that one!tim_raper wrote:with a camerasteve149c wrote:BBC have somehow got a photo of the jet?

We know what you meant Steve - certainly no need for sarcastic comments by others at such a potentially sad time. Let's just hope it all turns out well in the end.
Re: Red Arrow incident - breaking news
That was my impression - the MDC canopy edge looks very smooth, like it was separated rather than smashed.
Let's hope so!

Pictures here do not show very smooth edges. Looks more "broken" than "shattered by det".steve149c wrote:That was my impression - the MDC canopy edge looks very smooth, like it was separated rather than smashed.

Re: Red Arrow incident - breaking news
If the det fired would it not have shattered the whole canopy?
Praying the pilot is ok.

Re: Red Arrow incident - breaking news
I disagree Rich the edge looks consistent with the MDC firing and leaving its cleanish edge.RichC wrote:Pictures here do not show very smooth edges. Looks more "broken" than "shattered by det".

Photo three is misleading as the rear view mirrors are in place, not bits of canopy.
Photo three also suggests the seat fired correctly as there is residue from the rocket pack on the paint work.

RIP, not good

Re: Red Arrow incident - breaking news
RIP - very sad news. You always expect 'incidents' to happen in the air. Bit unlucky it seems.
