Also confirmed on the local Echo newspaper website that it was XX179 that went down.
The Ministry of Defence also confirmed Flt Egging was not flying his regular plane, but XX179, a member of the team for nine years, which was officially assigned to Red 5, Flt Kirsty Moore.

A spokesman said: “Red Arrows aircraft are routinely swapped between team pilots throughout the display season.”

From people near the airport (via facebook) they are refueling them at the moment Kurt.

Do not know if this is true or indeed if it is a sign they will return today.

Various media web sites saying the same but some also saying that there is no confirmation that the clearance to fly means they'll be performing again immediately.

There is another thread, on which I have posted (as has someone else), there has been activity on UHF from both Valley and 100 Sqn Hawks this morning.

Indeed, they've already canceled the displays up to the end of August, and all I read from it is that they can effectively fly back to Scampton.
