Anybody knows what was wrong for it the take the wire. 0178 came over Duxford in the afternoon in a nice tight formation.

Looking at the intake postion, i would say hydraulics were the problem.

Normally the intakes on landing are angled downwards as can be seen in the picture before.

Were as the jet taking the wire, the intake is in the upward position.

The intales are drooped to reduce the airflow when the engines are running at low power settings. If one is in the relaxed position it is because there is no intake vacuum on that side, ie the engine is shut down.
